Hot Tubs Delivery Information
We regularly deliver hot tubs all over Scotland and the whole of the UK. Delivery and standard hot tub installation (where there is good access to the proposed spa location, without the need for a crane or with large amounts of steps etc) is included in the price of your Hot tub within 100 miles of our showroom in East Kilbride, Scotland. For any distance out of this area (either in Scotland or the rest of the UK) give us a call and we will quote you the best possible price we can for the delivery of your hot tub. The most important thing to remember is your hot tub must be placed on a smooth, level, self-draining surface. If installing your spa indoors, the surface beneath and around the spa should be protected against water run-off and be self-draining.
If you are going to enjoy your hot tub outside, a concrete base between 100mm and 150mm thickness should be laid with the base 50mm larger than your chosen spa dimensions. Other options for a spa base include your existing patio, bricks, slabs or blocks. You could choose a wooden deck but this must be constructed to support 500kg/m2. There should be no more that a 20mm change in level across the spa. When you are making a base for your new hot tub don't forget to allow some space for your steps as well. we do not recommend that your spa is sited directly onto grass or soil, as soft surfaces will have a tendency to settle resulting in an unlevel spa. The good news is your hot tub does not need to be plumbed into a permanent water supply as it has a closed plumbing circuit, however you will obviously need access to a water supply - normally an outside tap with a hose pipe. When we deliver the hot tub if you had access to your neighbour's tap as well this would speed up the filling of the tub. Also remember to allow space to access the drainage vaves of the hot tub for cleaning.
The hot tub will be delivered on a flat bed truck. Please ensure there is adequate access to your driveway and spa site. The spa will be manoeuvred and positioned using a dolly truck on which it will be mounted on its side. The dolly truck can only travel over hard surfaces of at least 600mm wide. Ideally we would require a 1000mm wide space to move the tub in.
You will be asked to provide additional manpower on delivery, ideally at least two extra able bodied people.
If you have ordered a hot tub, but feel the dolly truck will not be adequate for manoeuvring your spa, then please let us know so that we can discuss your individual requirements. We will have no option but to leave the hot tub at the entrance of your property if access cannot be made. There must be an appropriate electrical supply (13 or 32 amps depending on the model). This must be wired through an R.C.D (or circuit breaker) usually 2 meters away from the hot tub or from the fuse box. Any buried or exposed cable should be armoured and should terminate next to the site of the Spa. Our installation teams will only need bare cable of 4/6mm to connect your hot tub. Please leave enough cable for our fitters to connect the cable to the control box. The cable will enter the cabinet at the corner of the hot tub until it reaches the control box which is situated in the middle of the side of the hot tub showing the control pad. We recommend that all electrical work be carried out by a qualified electrician. All our fitters require is the cable and bare wires to connect to the hot tub unless the tub runs on a 13amp supply where a normal three pin socket can be used to fit onto the end of your cable, ready for us to plug in.
Please bear in mind when thinking about the delivery of your new hot tub that hot tubs are ver ydifficult to move. They tend to be big, bulky and very heavy so an access route for the tub needs to be carefully planned. We can almost always overcome problem situations with a little bit of planning so make sure you let us know if there are going to be any problems so we have the best chance of getting your hot tub installed for you hassle free!
